What is the value of my register?
Antique cash registers are typically priced according to scarcity and demand. Prices of antique brass cash registers are usually consistent throughout the country. Of course, when appraising a register to purchase, you must consider the value of your enjoyment of the piece. We do not do written appraisals on registers unless it has be physically be in our shop, but if you would like a ballpark on what your register is worth, you can e-mail us photographs and we will be happy to look at it.
Most importantly, the HBAC Group is a professional organization and we value our customers’ trust. All inquiries are confidential. The HBAC Group does not buy or sell cash registers on E-Bay because so many of our valued customers do, and many of those machines have been sent to us for restoration. In some cases, if the machine is close, we will pick it up for you. We do on occasion bid on cash register parts, however.
Are smaller cash registers worth more than big cash registers?
Not necessarily. In cash registers, size does not matter. Smaller registers tend to be more desirable, therefore, making them more sought after, which gives the impression that they are worth more money.
Do you buy cash registers?
We are always looking for cash registers to purchase. However, since we have a large inventory of cash registers already, we don’t buy every register. If you have a cash register you would like to sell, please e-mail us a picture along with the price and we will get back to you. If we are not interested, we may be able to steer you in the direction of someone who might be.
How do I determine the model number of my cash register?
The model and serial numbers are usually located on a tag on the front of the machine. This tag is usually located directly under the glass of the register in the center. If this tag is missing, the information might be found on a paper tag on the bottom of the cash drawer. It is very important to make every effort to determine the model number of your machine before contacting us with questions.
How old is my cash register?
Brass cash registers were manufactured for only twenty-seven years. Therefore, the exact age is generally not that important. You can look on the register information section of our web site and there you’ll find a chart with serial numbers corresponding to shipping dates.
How do I ship my cash register to the HBAC Group?
